Logistics and Procurement Officer - UMCOR-NGO

The United Methodist Committee on Relief, Non-Governmental Organization (UMCOR-NGO) (www.umcor-ngo.org) is a not-for-profit organization that provides transitional development and relief assistance to communities in need around the world. UMCOR-NGO’s Indonesia Field Mission (UMCOR-Indonesia) is seeking a Logistics and Procurement Officer to support operations and project implementation in the organization’s Bireuen office.


Procurement and Logistics Officer for UMCOR - Indonesia
(Aceh - Bireuen)

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Field Coordinator in Bireuen and Finance Director, based in Medan, to establish and maintain procurement systems for the Bireuen office
Help, develop, monitor, review and control Procurement and Planning processes
Identify and maintain panel of potential vendors and source high quality goods and services for meeting program needs
Ability to negotiate with vendors and finalize best deals for the Organization under a win-win situation
Participate in procurement process
Ensure complete transparency and objectivity in all procurement operations and decisions
Prepare monthly Procurement Plan Analysis and MIS Reports for management Review and Program Strategy
Coordinate and conduct distribution of relief materials in accordance with program strategy
Establish and maintain proper filing system for procurement records
Repair and ensure proper maintenance of vehicles in the Project Office and ensure their effective deployment if project needs and any other duties as assigned by the Field Coordinator or Finance Director

Requirements:

Minimum two to four years’ experience managing procurement and logistical operations out of which two years should preferably be within non-for-profit sector. Proven familiarity with procurement operations and standardized procedures. Ability to prioritize and carry out assigned tasks, attention to detail, and strong analytic and negotiation skills. Should be conversant to operate in a computerized environment. Ability to communicate fluently in spoken and written English. Experience in working for I/NGOs and/or UN agencies preferred.
