Administration / Finance Officer Aceh Besar

The Canadian Red Cross (CRC) is implementing a major community-based reconstruction and rehabilitation program with the primary focus on shelter construction project in Aceh Besar, Lamno, Calang and Nias for beneficiaries affected by Tsunami of December 26, 2004 and earthquake of March 28, 2007. We are also implementing Livelihood, Environmental Health and Disaster Preparedness Management programs to help families and communities to improve their live quality. We are looking for qualified and committed candidates to fill the following position on a fixed term contract basis.

Administration / Finance Officer Aceh Besar (Ref. Code AO-AB)
Purpose of the Post:

To provide administrative, financial and translation support to the Aceh Besar Field Office


Main Responsibilities:

1. Work towards the achievement of Canadian Red Cross goals in the country/region of operation through effective managerial and lateral relations and teamwork

2. Ensure understanding of roles, responsibilities, lateral relationships and accountabilities

3. Perform other work related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Competencies and Skills Required for the Post:
1. Assist in ensuring the smooth flowing of routine, administrative and financial works of the Aceh Besar Field Office.

2. Handles petty cash and other financial transactions for the Aceh Besar Field Office with the help of the Banda Aceh Finance Department.

3. Prepare and organize documents and files related to livelihoods program. (Photocopying, filing, scanning, faxing).

4. Translate letters, agreements, and other written documents from English to Bahasa Indonesia and vice versa.

5. Provide oral translation for presentations of project proposals at project selection committee meetings and as requested.

6. Collect and distribute information, forms and templates to field and program staffs.

7. Develop and maintain tracking system for projects being implemented.

8. Maintain stock and order equipment and supplies as needed.

9. Assist in booking transport and accommodation for field visits.

Lateral relationships
1. Establish and ensure effective working relationships with delegates and staff.

2. Ensure effective working relationships with National Society counterparts and leadership.

Qualifications

Competencies and skills required for the position:

· Three years relevant work experience.

· Well organized, high attention to detail.

· Excellent communication skills

· English (written/spoken), Bahasa Indonesia (written/spoken), Bahasa Aceh (spoken)

· Computer skills including MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

· Familiarity with Tsunami recovery operations in NAD is an advantage.

Financial Management background


Education/Qualifications:

· University Graduate (minimum S1) in a related field
